You’re sound asleep when you hear a thump outside your bedroom door.

Half-awake, and nearly paralyzed with fear, you hear muffled whispers.

At least two people have broken into your house and are moving your way.

With your heart pumping, you reach down beside your bed and pick up your shotgun.

You rack a shell into the chamber, then inch toward the door and open it.

On Wednesday the Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. Metro Council voted Tuesday to extend an agreement with the federal government that allows the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office to check the immigration status of people who come through the county jail.

The sometimes-controversial 287(g) program was championed by Sheriff Daron Hall as a tool to keep Nashville safer, but has been criticized for its effect on Nashville’s immigrant community.
Immigrant advocates say some who are in the U.S. illegally won’t call police for fear they could be arrested and deported. WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama restated his campaign pledge to allow homosexual men and women to serve openly in the military, but left many in his audience of gay activists wondering when he would make good on the promise.

“I will end ‘don’t ask-don’t tell,’” Obama said Saturday night to a standing ovation from the crowd of about 3,000 at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, a gay civil rights advocacy group. WASHINGTON — With swine flu vaccinations set to begin in October, public health officials are mobilizing to ensure that the nation’s estimated 11 million-plus illegal immigrants are vaccinated to protect themselves and the public.

Unlike the debate over whether illegal immigrants should get federal health care, there is little dispute they should be included in the nation’s voluntary vaccination program.
“We believe it’s important that all people be vaccinated regardless of immigration status if there’s a pressing public health concern,” said Jon Feere, legal policy analyst at the Center for Immigration Studies, which opposes taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants and wants to reduce immigration.
Leaving 10 million to 12 million immigrants unvaccinated against swine flu, also known as the H1N1 virus, would increase the health risk to everyone and make it much harder to control an epidemic, said Dr. Kevin Fiscella, associate professor of family medicine and preventive medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York.
